Position DescriptionFortis Academy is accepting applications for a qualified part-time Upper School Latin teacher. Opportunities to teach additional humanities courses are available. This position is ideal for experienced or retired humanities teachers who desire to work part-time on Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays in a Christ-centered, classical school.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Latin language and translation courses for Upper School students.
Maintain course syllabi, learning objectives, and grade records in accordance with Fortis Academy’s curriculum and guidelines.
Work to foster a school community guided by a love of Christ and one another.
Lead by example, model lifelong learning, and represent the school’s mission.
Participate in Fortis Academy’s staff development days and teacher training.
Participate in the life of the school and special events in fellowship with co-workers and families throughout the year.
Additional Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills Required
Dedication to the Christian faith.
Passion for Christian education and fostering student growth.
Strong oral and written communication and basic computer skills.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Must clear a full background check.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
1-3+ years experience working in a related field is preferred.
Experience in a Christian, Classical, and collaborative educational model is preferred but not required.
