Job Description
Translates market data, product and innovation plans into a comprehensive brand plan that drives affinity and demand for Remington Ammunition, accessories and licensed goods. Leads internal and external creative teams, marketing management and all marketing channels to execute campaigns, measure return, and build the Remington brand.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing, The Kinetic Group and is based out of our Lonoke, Arkansas office.
As the Director of Marketing for Remington Ammunition, you will have the opportunity to:
Define and achieve goals and metrics through robust plan development aligned with strategic and category plans. Specific responsibilities include:
Manage the internal creative team for success, continuous improvement and professional development
Develop team for efficient and excellent creative execution
Write copy for promotional materials when needed
Strong project management background to ensure the team works against tight timelines and in support of sales initiatives
Owner and champion of brand positioning, messaging development, written style guide and guardrails for advertising, packaging, in-store and event signage
Develop brand and product launch plans to set strategy for promotion of priority products to build consumer awareness, penetrate markets and build demand to pull product off the shelf. Collaborate with internal and external teams to execute strategies:
Work with Media Director and external agencies when needed on media, advertising and PR plan execution
Align with Director of Web/eCommerce on graphic needs for website, and engaging and growing enewsletter and SMS subscribers
Grow existing social media audience working with internal social media manager and RemArms firearms company through strategy development, ambassador/influencer relations, creative execution and robust analytics and reporting
Creative direction and prioritization for Remington’s live events presence. Collaborate with internal events team and external contractor to showcase Remington Ammunition at customer and consumer events
Build rapport with product management team to ensure voice of consumer and brand is paramount in new product launch materials, understand the Remington customer and consumer to contribute to the development of new products
Engage with endemic media partners on product and brand initiatives for positive press. Build rapport and represent Remington brand to media partners working with internal and external PR teams/agencies
Connect with Director of Community Relations to ensure plan execution and thorough engagement on internal communications initiatives at the Lonoke facility.
Coordinate with Trade Marketing team to align brand plans with strategic account activity and timing
Partner with firearms and other industry companies on new products and projects to expand reach of the brand and recruit more Remington followers
When required for new campaigns and to supplement internal capabilities, work with VP to engage with external design agencies and talent
Creative development of marketing materials: advertising, brochures, websites, social media strategy, promotions, packaging and in-store signage to Win at Retail collaborating with sales and Trade Marketing teams
Capture competitive brand and product promotion activity to share with the organization and inform marketing strategies
Upkeep of Remington trademarks list to keep consistent use and protect these mark assets, collaboration with legal team
Provide key launch dates and promotion activity to marketing for master calendar
Host cross-functional learning sessions/brown bags to share successes, trends and opportunities
Provide monthly forecasts to VP and finance team to stay on budget and keep team informed of spend and timing
You have:
7-10 years of experience in Marketing, Communications; minimum 2-3 years management experience preferred
Experience managing internal and external resources and budgets
Strong project management, writing and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, MBA a plus
Experience with leading marketing, project management and creative collaboration tools and software, such as Sprout Social, Trello and Dropbox
Experience in consumer products marketing required
Experience in sporting goods or leisure products marketing preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
