Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.What You'll Do
We're looking for a Senior software engineer to join the Omnichannel Fitment team. In this role you will:Design and implement complex features in Fitment applications.Analyze and optimize NodeJS backend applications.Experiment with new technologies and features and build quick prototypes.Participate in managing code & configurations for multiple environments, release management process, creating and maintaining environment configuration and controls, code integrity and work closely with platform team.Analyze business requirements, storyboards and similar artifacts of the scrum process, work in an agile development environment with a quick turnaround time and iterative builds.Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design.Lead the work of other small groups of three to five engineers.Ensure inclusion of business vision and industry trends to enable results that drive business.Problem solving and troubleshooting design and development issues and provide appropriate solutions.Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.Knowledge of standard tools for optimizing and testing code.A desire to work in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.What You'll Bring
Minimum Qualifications:5+ years of experience programming in NodeJS, REST Services, and related technologies.Hands-on experience with RDBMS (Oracle), PL/SQL.Experience with No-SQL technologies like Couchbase or Cassandra.Experience with distributed publish-subscribe messaging system like Kafka.Expertise in SaaS application development.Experience with UNIX shell and scripting.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with Frontend technologies (React/Redux).Experience building restful APIs in frameworks in Java.About Walmart Global Tech
