Altos, San Diego, California, United States, 92189

Our mission is to restore cell health and resilience through cell rejuvenation to reverse disease, injury, and the disabilities that can occur throughout life.Diversity at Altos

We believe that diverse perspectives are foundational to scientific innovation and inquiry. We are building a company where exceptional scientists and industry leaders from around the world work side by side to advance a shared mission. Our intentional focus is on Belonging, so that all employees know that they are valued for their unique perspectives. At Altos, we are all accountable for sustaining a diverse and inclusive environment. The Kharchenko lab at Altos Labs San Diego Institute is studying how cells coordinate their activity within complex biological tissues, how these mechanisms break down in disease and injury, and the potential interventions that may improve tissue function. Our effort is focused on application and analysis of cutting-edge genomic assays to understand tissue cellular functions and cell coordination within tissues.Altos Labs aims to foster scientific creativity, providing research labs with both resources and freedom needed to pursue fundamental scientific challenges, including the ability of individual labs to publish and present their work for the wider scientific community.Responsibilities

The Scientist or Senior Scientist in this position will be expected to develop, optimize, and apply genomic assays to study cell coordination within tissues in the context of different diseases, aging, and rejuvenation. This may include approaches for detailed interrogation of cellular state at the transcriptional, epigenetic, or proteomic level, spatially resolved assays, or approaches to trace cell history and lineage. The Scientist will be supported by computational and experimental teams both within and outside Altos. The Scientist will be expected to lead experimental designs, author, and contribute to biological and methodological manuscripts, and contribute to seminars and other scientific initiatives within Altos as well as the wider scientific community.Who You Are
