Practitioner : Directs the triage and management for their specific subspecialty. Role expectations include assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the assigned patients in consultation with the Collaborating/Consulting physician or designee.Performs indirect and direct patient care for Pediatric patients with a high degree of knowledge and skill. Utilizes the scientific process and national standards of care as a framework for managing patient care.Independently provides care through history taking, physical assessment and interpretation of diagnostic procedures. Obtains necessary consents. Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with physicians. May hold prescriptive authority from the collaborating physician. Coordinates care between attending physicians, residents, nursing staff and other disciplines as appropriate.Consults with nursing staff in the development and evaluation of nursing care plans for patients and support systems with complex needs.Participates in managing care and communicates to other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in patient safety initiatives. Reviews labs, x-rays and follows up appropriately. Provides timely updates to the Collaborating physician or designee and discusses any significant changes in the patient's condition.Acts as a resource to nursing staff for complex patients and assists staff in assessing and planning the care of these patients.Serves as a consultant and/or resource person for hospital personnel in area of specialization. Accepts referrals and collaborates with physicians, nurses and other members of the interdisciplinary team in planning the care of patients needing specialized nursing. Initiates referral to other healthcare providers and resource agencies as necessary.Administrative/Leadership:

Demonstrates leadership qualities that reflect accountability and interdependence consistent with goals of the organization.Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, onboarding and orientation, scheduling, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.Participates in and supports Quality Improvement/Clinical Excellence initiatives within the Medical Center and system wide. Participates in system wide/ hospital organizations such as APC councils for LGH/CMC, credentialing committees, peer review, DNV, etc.License/Registration/Certification:

APRN or PA, Must have DEA/CSL. Active board certification in pediatric clinical practice, AND Nurse, ACTIVE, PA.Board Certification CSL/DEAIssued by (Governing Body):
