This position is based in our Purchase, NY headquarters and will support our Consumer Products & Processing Team with a focus on Global Prepaid Products.OverviewAs a market leader, our legal team is a critical part of our franchise and business helping to drive the identification, development, and distribution of products & solutions. The Consumer Products & Processing team provides best-in-class legal counsel in connection with our products & solutions as they are identified, developed, tested, and brought to market.RolePartner with the product, technology, sales, franchise, compliance, marketing, communications, and others to develop and launch innovative products and solutions.Engage and assist clients in managing and mitigating legal and commercial risks.Manage tactical and strategic legal support related to our products and solutions.Collaborate with in-house and external specialists to identify relevant issues and help the business effectively navigate risk.Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts to drive issuer and merchant acceptance.Ensure the monitoring and evaluation of applicable laws and government regulations.Partner with colleagues to develop and present policy and regulatory positions.Assist with the creation of training materials and product guides.All About YouLaw degree from a top-tier university;Must be licensed to practice in one or more states, including New York;Relevant post-qualification experience in general commercial legal matters;Fluent in English; additional languages considered an asset;Strong drafting and negotiation skills;Must be interested in significant contact with business clients;Must have a strategic mindset;Must be able to contribute and operate effectively within a diverse multicultural organization;Should have a positive “can do” attitude;Must be able to work independently;Must be thorough, meticulous, and detail-oriented;Should exercise good commercial judgment;Must be comfortable with technology and have a strong interest in financial technology.Mastercard is an inclusive Equal Employment Opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
