Under the direction of the CHS Director, he/she is responsible for the oversight, direction, supervision and financial management of the following food sovereignty initiatives; food access and traditional foods education and improvement programming to include but not limited to; traditional foods, food assessments, local growing/cultivation, food security improvements, food access programs, and regional food coalitions. The Food Sovereignty Program Administrator will provide direct supervision to Program Coordinators within the Food Sovereignty Services division. The Food Sovereignty Program Administrator position will coordinate, implement, and provide direct oversight of the Community Health Services programs that are aimed at improving food security, food sovereignty and food access for the beneficiaries of the APIA Region. The position will supervise staff, collect data, provide grant and program reports and ensure all program services are delivered successfully. Hours of work are 7.5 hours per day, 5 days a week, in office.QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental, Master’s Preferred (science, health, etc.) or food related studies.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food security programming or related work.Ability to communicate in written and spoken English well.Ability to prepare and present effective oral and/or written reports in required format.Ability to demonstrate proficient computer skills.Successful performance in developing and managing agency grants/contracts.Knowledge of grant policies and procedures and business accounting principles.Experience with policy development at the local, state, and national levels; preferred.Experience working with healthcare professionals, local community structures, government agencies, academic institutions, private organizations, and non-profit corporations.Experience with the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs for youth, adults, and/or nontraditional learners.Understanding and knowledge of budget and fiscal procedures.Ability to execute instructions and apply specific guidelines to varied situations.Experience in working with youth, diverse cultures, and familiarity with the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands Region.Willingness and means to travel and have a valid Alaska Driver’s License.Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.Experience writing grants and proposals; preferred.Apply online at www.apiai.org or email resume and application to:Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, Inc.Attn: Human Resources Director1131 East International Airport RoadPhone: (907) 276-2700Fax: (907) 279-4351* Native preference will be given to qualified applicant pursuant to P.L. 93-638.
