DescriptionSummary of the position:This position is responsible for the cross-functional coordination of full lifecycle activities for new acquisitions, business integrations, and operational optimization projects. These projects will cross multiple disciplines and require the use of his/her operational work experience and diverse PMI tools to ensure projects come to a successful conclusion. He/she is responsible for developing and driving the project schedule and monitoring / reporting the progress for all key performance metrics (schedule, technical, costs) on a regular basis. This role will be responsible for holding the project teams accountable and challenging conventional thinking to help achieve strategic goals and impact financial results. This position will be located at the Hitachi Global Air Power office in Chicago, IL or Michigan City, IN.Duties and responsibilities:Develop the overall project integration schedule with sub-workstreams by function and ensure committed owners and delivery dates to all actions and work product deliverablesLead, communicate and drive project objectives, cross functionally, through all applicable stakeholders.Ensure that all Project systems and data repositories are updated through-out the project.Schedule, run and document all project related cross-functional meetings.Maintain overall project timing, specification, and cost status by regularly updating the respective tracking toolsIdentify deviations from project targets (cost, timing, resources) and coordinate functions to develop counter measures / optionsEscalate time sensitive issues to the appropriate decision makers outside of the established review cadenceEmploy analytical skills to evaluate data and resolve issues to meet project requirementsFacilitate Diligence Data gathering, Operational Integration, and Communication coordination for new acquisition projects.Develop, track, and maintain synergy savings for required integration projects.Work with local and federal governmental agencies, as required, to complete required paperwork for acquisitions.Lead domestic and international projects that support the establishment of shared services, system standardization, and organizational restructure.Guide stakeholders in the timely and comprehensive delivery of their work packagesExecute, maintain, and propose refinements to the overall PMO ProcessDesired Skills and Experience:Education
:Bachelor Degree in business management, operations management, supply chain management, analytics or equivalent degree / experienceProfessional experience:3-5 years of experience in project management is required.7-10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years managing or supervising an operational or commercial team is required.Excellent verbal, communication and organization skills are required.Experience with a Project or Portfolio Management (PPM) Software Programs is required.Experience with resource, system / application, and process integration work is required.Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures and Training documentation is required.Experience with Shared Services / Customer Service implementation, Roll-out, or Expansion is desirable.Experience working within SAP is desirable.Certifications:Project or Program Manager Certification through a globally recognized organization is highly desirable (PMI).Lean Six Sigma Certification of Green Belt or higher is desirable.Agile / SAFe 5 / Scrum certification is desirable.Key behaviors:Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a well-structured fashion and strong capability to functionally lead cross-functional teams.Ability to work with diverse personalities while remaining tactful, professional, and flexible.Ability to work with limited data / ambiguous information during the initial phases of a project.Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams and individuals cross-functionally.Ability to translate / transfer Cross-functional team requirements into project activities and work packages.Ability to identify the most effective project methodology based on the project requirements and team dynamics.Ability to hold team members accountable and escalate issues / risks to the appropriate stakeholdersDirect reports:N/AThe successful candidate is responsible for complying with Hitachi Global Air Power US Code of Ethics and related policies.
