Personal Lines Insurance Account Manager (Licensed)
PRIMARY ROLE:
Day-to-day maintenance and servicing of assigned Personal Lines accounts, including but not limited to:
Marketing & placement of new and existing accounts.
Achieving retention goals through proactive account rounding, up-selling of limits and coverage, and delivering extraordinary client service.
Maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Perform annual review and risk exposure analysis of renewal policies for proper coverage, incorporating information obtained from the client.
Maintain client files and ensure proper documentation, by processing all policies, endorsement changes, certificates of insurance, documentation, activities, etc., according to agency procedures, and within agency timelines.
Respond to client inquiries, incoming e-mail, mail, and company requests in accordance with agency guidelines.
Review all items to be processed, to ensure items were received as ordered.
Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills.
Maintain current knowledge of the underwriting requirements of carriers.
Keep current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins.
Participate in special projects at management’s request.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
3+ years experience with an independent insurance agency (Required).
Current Illinois State Property & Casualty License (Required).
Extensive knowledge of all lines of personal insurance, including standard and specialty lines markets (high net-worth experience a plus.)
Thorough knowledge of brokerage operations, including
risk assessment, claims handling, and understanding of carrier/agency/customer relationships.
Experience operating in an electronic environment, with heavy emphasis on phone/email communication.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and PDF document handling.
Experience with multiple carriers’ proprietary rating systems, as well as comparative rating (EZLynx, PL Rating, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Devoted attention to detail.
Advanced time management/organization skills.
High degree of self-motivation and self-direction.
Two-year associate’s degree preferred.
Experience with Applied Epic preferred.
COMPENSATION:
$50,000 - $85,000 (based on years of experience and a proven track record for delivering excellent customer service)
Additional bonuses/commissions earned on self-produced business.
401(k) match on first 4% (after 1st year of employment)
