USGBC’s U.S. Market Transformation and Development (U.S. MT&D) department is seeking a

Florida-based Director U.S. MT&D

works to ensure a vision that supports growth, development and inspiration of the USGBC Florida community, facilitates meaningful and effective market engagement, and delivers the best-in-class education and partnership opportunities toward meaningful market transformation. This position holds dual responsibility to the growth of market development opportunities and maintenance of relationships with existing partners, members, sponsors, volunteers, and allied organizations. The Director engages USGBC’s current stakeholder base around core programs and cultivates new business with clients in target sectors. Working with the Regional Director and other USGBC leadership, the Director participates in the development of the USGBC Florida work plan.

This position is directly responsible for and leads the USGBC market engagement and development strategy in Florida, holding ownership over the growth of assigned USGBC/GBCI product suites. The Director works closely with the larger U.S. and South regional teams to support priority activities as assigned. The Director will further manage and mentor a Market Transformation and Development Associate to support executing these initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities Include:Draft and implement work plan aligned with U.S. MT&D strategic market/product, sector, and growth plansResponsibility for annual profitable budget, inclusive of revenue strategy and implementation and expense management. Revenue portfolio includes, but is not limited to sponsorship, membership, event registration, and grantsSuccessful achievement of performance goals and oversight of programs for membership, partnership, LEED project registration, and other engagement metricsManage volunteer leadership and serve as co-chair/staff lead of Market Leadership Advisory BoardDeliver engagement activities with local and regional staff and volunteers in alignment with USGBC’s business/strategic plan. Ensure consistent high-quality of programmingManage successful organizational and individual membership program in local community. Serve as primary relationship owner for key growth accounts in local marketCultivate, retain, and grow relationships with USGBC members and clients in the market and their engagement with USGBC, LEED, and other assigned productsKeep current on market trends to identify and develop robust programs and business models that establish USGBC as a leading voice and innovator in our market, while attracting new business to the organization’s workLead at least one market sector-focused campaign to grow engagement with USGBC and the use of USGBC product solutionsMeasure and communicate to USGBC and the volunteers, members and partners on the success, financial viability, and market impact of program effortsBuild upon and grow the strong existing individual and corporate partnerships, and be the primary focal point with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholdersRepresent USGBC at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote initiatives and foster partnerships, including submitting proposals that feature USGBC initiatives, staff or membersCollaborate with local governments and other entities to influence policies and regulations that support sustainable building practices, in conjunction with USGBC Policy & Advocacy staffDevelop and execute communication strategies to promote USGBC programs and initiatives through various channels, including LinkedIn, digital communications and public presentationsSupervise, coach, and mentor, direct reports who support the local work plan and contribute to the achievement of goalsOther responsibilities as assignedEmployee Supervision:

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree is desirableLEED Green Associate and other GBCI credentials preferredExperience Requirements:

10+ years of proven non-profit management and/or business experience, preferably from a related community such as real estate, AE+C, or sustainabilityPreferred familiarity with the LEED rating system or green building practicesProven track record of successfully managing projects, staff and volunteersDemonstrated ability for business development or fundraising (sponsorships, grants, membership, advocacy, program development, etc.) Established resources and connections helpfulOther Required Skills and Qualifications:
