A law firm in Miami, FL, seeks a highly skilled Income Tax Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and proficiency in complex income tax planning, including partnership taxation and closely held or family business transactional tax matters. Experience with foreign inbound, IRS controversy, and domestic and foreign trust issues is also desirable. The role requires flexibility to work across various tax and non-tax areas within the private wealth practice and a strong desire to contribute as a writer and speaker on private wealth matters relevant to the firm’s diverse client base.Duties:Provide expert legal counsel on complex income tax planning matters.Advise on partnership taxation and closely held or family business transactional tax issues.Handle foreign inbound tax matters and IRS controversies.Assist with domestic and foreign trust-related issues.Demonstrate flexibility by working in various tax and non-tax areas within the private wealth practice.Write and present on private wealth matters to enhance the firm’s thought leadership.Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement effective tax strategies.Conduct thorough research and prepare detailed legal documents and memos.Requirements:2-5 years of relevant experience in income tax law.Broad exposure and proficiency in complex income tax planning.Experience with partnership taxation and closely held or family business transactional tax matters.Knowledge of foreign inbound, IRS controversy, and domestic and foreign trust issues is a plus.Flexibility to work in various tax and non-tax areas within the private wealth practice.Strong research and writing skills.Team-oriented with a commitment to professional excellence.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Strong academic background with a focus on tax law.Certifications:Admitted and in good standing as a member of the Florida State Bar.Admission to the NY State Bar is preferable.Current or prior employment with an Am Law 100 firm is a plus.Skills:Exceptional research and analytical skills.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle complex tax matters with precision.Strong commitment to a professional work ethic and team collaboration.Flexibility and eagerness to engage in diverse tax and non-tax areas.Proven ability to contribute to thought leadership through writing and speaking engagements.
