Our Core Values are Believe, Belong, Become!Working with the support of the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach is responsible for developing all players in the program on and off the court through a championship caliber environment, an open door for competition and development of skills, character, and leadership at all levels.The spring season starts on February 24 and runs through May 11. Practices are scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 3:30pm-6:30pm and potentially Saturday mornings. This is a stipend paid position that reports to the Director of Athletics.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed in relation to the position. This is not a comprehensive listing of all the responsibilities or tasks; other duties may be assigned when deemed appropriate:Coaches’ individual participants in mechanics, film study and skills necessary to compete at the highest level possible.Communicate with other coaches outside the ISL to schedule in-season games.Coordinate and supervise a regular schedule of practice.Encourage sportsmanship, team unity, and enforce all sportsmanship guidelines.Enforce discipline of contest, school, league and state rules and regulations.Supervise assistant coaches and enhance their professional development.Support school organized efforts for a sustainable fundraising plan and communicate with players, coaches, and community.Assist in hiring and managing coaching staff.Attend required coaches’ clinics and conference pre and post season meetings.Develop and maintain a relationship with the Athletic Director and Administration to facilitate court/facility use and monitor student athlete academic development.Oversee and manage Holy Child’s softball program for all levels.Provide and display a willingness to work with the Athletics Department, administration, staff, student-athletes, and parents.Support players in the college selection and recruiting process.Develop and organize out of season training, tournaments, and player development.Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, coaches, and community. Experience coaching/participating in softball at the high school or collegiate level.
