Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and direction as listed. This position has oversight of a specific area, and acts as a representative to the department ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor’s competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This is the Lead position on assigned projects or performs engineering assignments of any complexity. • Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts • Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts • Develop and review specifications, including design criteria • Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting • Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of difficult engineering complexity • Serve as Supervising Lead providing guidance/supervision to other leads and function as mentor to less experienced engineers including performance appraisal input and counseling • Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines • Other duties as assignedNotice to Candidates:Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependant) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening.To be Considered Candidates:Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.Basic Job Requirements• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience; a recognized professional certification or registration in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Professional registration and membership in technical society (preferred)• Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting• Managing and leading a large project• Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress reporting and project close-out• Practical field experience• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsOther Job Requirements• U.S. Citizenship required• Intermediate knowledge of: o Performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures o One or more of the following structural design software: STAAD, STAADPro and RISA3D o Intermediate knowledge of Mathcad o Analyzing complex structures o Wind and seismic loading in structural calculations o Dynamic analysis and design o Computer modeling and analysis o Procurement and construction aspects of engineering o Vendor drawing review, intergroup review – squad checking o Engineering and fabricator drawing checking• Basic knowledge of blast design• Intermediate knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials• Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting• Managing and leading a small project• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs• Remote work requests will be evaluated based on positions, job function, and project requirements. However, if remote work is approved, periodic travel to home office and/or project site will be requiredPreferred Qualifications-Solid understanding and experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design for nuclear facilities,Formal training and experience in structural dynamics, and earthquake analysis and design.-Nuclear experience in ASCE 4, and ASCE 43-Ability to write solid VBA code is required, with understanding of User Interface concepts.-Understanding of the type of seismic analysis that needs to be done for distribution systems and equipment.-Familiarity with any of the below standards or demonstrated ability to learn them quicklyASME B31.3, or ASME B31.1ASME BPVC Section III, ASME AG-1, IEEE 344, Standard for Seismic Qualification of Equipment for NPP, and ASME QME-1, Qualification of Active Mechanical Equipment Used in Nuclear Facilities,Seismic Qualification Utility Group (SQUG), Generic Implementation Procedure (GIP) for Seismic Verification of Nuclear Plant Equipment,-Familiar with seismic fragility concepts and able explain it to others.• Proficiency in the use of STAADPro and Mathcad• Professional Engineer registration• Practical field experience• EPC project experience working on projects for the US Department of Energy or other US Federal Government agency• EPC project experience working on nuclear facility projects under a nuclear quality assurance programSalary Range135,000 to 250,000 Market RateThe market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.BenefitsFluor is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote employee health, wellness, and financial security.
