Beacon Hill Financial is collaborating with a non-profit organization in D.C. to bring a meticulous and experienced Grants Accountant to manage and oversee financial activities related to grants and funding. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial management, with specific experience in grants administration. This role involves ensuring compliance with grant regulations, managing grant budgets, and providing financial reporting and support to ensure the successful execution of funded projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Financial Management:

    • Monitor and manage grant budgets, ensuring expenses align with approved budgets and funding guidelines.
    • Process and record transactions related to grants, including expenditures, reimbursements, and revenue.
  • Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and grant-specific requirements.
    • Prepare and submit financial reports and documentation required by grantors and regulatory agencies.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of grant accounts to ensure accuracy and adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Financial Analysis:

    • Analyze financial data related to grants, including variance analysis and budget forecasting.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of grant-related financial transactions and documentation.
    • Prepare for and assist with audits and reviews by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Collaboration and Support:

    • Work closely with program managers and project directors to ensure effective financial management of grants.
    • Provide guidance and training to staff on grant financial procedures and compliance requirements.
  • System and Process Improvement:

    • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures related to grant management.
    • Contribute to the improvement of accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
