In essence, each General Manager is responsible for every job function in the theatre. They must be able to personally perform and train others in all positions. The General Manager will conduct performance management, in the form of counseling and evaluating individuals and helping them to progress in their careers. In addition, they will oversee inventory, ordering supplies, writing schedules, manpower planning, hiring, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:The essential duties and responsibilities of a General Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:Responsible for the overall profit and loss of the theatre operationGrows a successful, multi-million-dollar business; drives sales leveraging the business acumen, and has efficiency, and problem-solving skillsConducts regular inventory and ordering as necessaryTrains and coaches Team Members and management members in their specific job functionsOrganizes and conducts Team Member meetings and training sessionsEnsures that theatre Team Members follow the dress codeRuns effective, concise, and inspirational pre-shiftsInterviews, hires, and evaluates Team Members and Management MembersDevelops promotions in alignment with company goalsPrepares administrative and special reports for senior managementEnforces cash handling procedures as directed by Cinemark policy (General Manager is held accountable for cash discrepancies)Follows the policies and procedures as established in Cinemark’s guidelines (Enforces these with all Team Members fairly and consistently)Manages employee relations issuesAll management must follow the Employee Relations Reporting ProtocolAll management is held at a high work ethic standard and code of conductInspects the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof and exterior signage, and equipment conditionInitiates repair and maintenance of the building, property, and equipmentMeets with Guests and vendors in order to improve service in the theatreConsistently identifies and sanitizes Employee and Guest high-contact areasProperly addresses any safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.)Properly utilizes Personal Protective Equipment while completing position specific tasksAdapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasksPerforms other work-related duties as assignedRequirements:Must be at least 18 years of age (at least 21 years of age in theatres that serve alcohol)High School or G.E.D. graduate preferredMinimum of 3 years previous theatre management experienceSenior Assistant Manager or Theatre Manager experience preferredCompletion of Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program, and passing of the Comprehensive Assessment testing process.Completes basic food handling training and obtains any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handlers permit where requiredSERV Safe Certification (where required)Availability to work flexible hours which include evenings, weekends, and holidays (Must work at least 40 hours per week)Requires regular and consistent attendanceHas an energetic and friendly attitude during each shiftProvides excellent Guest serviceAccurate cash handling and basic math skillsInterpersonal skills include the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities.
