School Bus Driver Staffing - Up to $30/hour - Full Time - Immediate Hiring

is a Metro Detroit school transportation company looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals who want to join our team transporting students.
As a
School Bus Driver
for Drivergent Transportation, you will be on the educational front lines and it will be your job to safely transport students, exceed customer expectations, and ensure routes are operated on time. Successful drivers put safety first, are reliable, can succeed in a changing environment and are ready to work!
*** These full-time, contracted school bus driver positions are employed by Drivergent, but are scheduled on assignment to partner school districts in need of driver support.
These assignments are typically "long-term", meaning several weeks or longer. If an assignment ends, these positions will be reassigned to another area district in need of driver support.
*** This position is currently available to school bus drivers with active fully endorsed CDL (A or B with P & S endorsements). Drivers should also be experienced with both general-ed and special-ed transportation.

Responsible for the
safe and reliable transportation of students ; including all duties connected to operating a school bus per all applicable client district policies & state/federal lawsAdhere to all school district rules , regulations and policiesFollow all directives
from school district staff while on-dutyAbility to
manage and maintain all students
on the bus in a calm and safe mannerConduct all
pre-trip and post-trip inspections
as requiredReports any maintenance problems
to Maintenance in accordance with district procedure and does not operate an unsafe vehicle.Reports to duty on time
and maintains route on time but in a safe mannerPhysically
assists passengers
in evacuation of the vehicle in case of emergencyImmediately reports any accident or incident
per Company/District policyExercises
student and/or passenger management
per Company/District policyInforms all appropriate personnel
of problems/proceduresKeeps the interior of the assigned
vehicle clean
and presentablePresent a
neat and professional personal appearance
at all timesEnsures
vehicle is properly fueled
according to facility proceduresCompletes all required paperwork
(including route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits to the appropriate authority in a timely mannerMaintains a cooperative attitude
with parents, students, other staff members, fellow employees, supervisors, customers, and passengers while always promoting company goodwillSafely and efficiently utilizes vehicle equipment , including wheelchair lifts, radios and emergency equipmentAlways drive and operate delivery vehicle safelyActively

(Advanced School Bus Driver Training) every 2 yearsAbility to
tolerate stressful situationsAble to understand and have
empathy for children and persons with disabilityExtensive knowledge of
traffic rules and regulationsStrong communication
and interpersonal skillsAbility to
operate and navigate a full-size or special-need school busAbility to effectively
operate a GPSBasic knowledge of Metro Detroit areaAbility to work outside in
various climates and weather conditionsMust practice defensive driving
at all times and avoid vehicular and industrial accidents by practicing safe driving and work habits.Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract specific Driver requirements.Basic Qualifications
