A rapidly growing IPP (currently 100 people) that has coverage across the US for Utility-scale solar, wind and storage projects.

With a substantial pipeline of projects in both the early and delivery phase, our client are actively looking to grow their Development team and expand across multiple regions. The long term plan is for individuals to oversee specific regions in all renewable technologies. With the amount of projects they are currently working on, along with their pipeline, they need to appoint 3-4 Development professionals.

Job Description

The

Director / Senior Director of Development

will be responsible for:

Manage the project development process from site identification to NTPLead the site screening, selection and feasibility assessmentConduct land, market, regulatory, and other project-related researchOversee land acquisition efforts by managing the lease negotiation process with landowners and serving as the primary contact with participating landownersLead the permitting process at the local, state, and federal levelsSecure any available state or local property tax incentivesEngage and oversee third party consultants to perform site characterization studies, energy assessments, surveys, and any environmental studies necessary to ensure site-specific compliance with regulatory and financing requirementsPerform community outreach and other stakeholder management activitiesEnlist the support of internal resources in such areas as GIS, interconnection, and engineering to incorporate known constraints into the site layout and initial designSupport the Execution and Procurement teams with the preparation of EPC and Supplier RFPsAssist in the generator interconnection process to secure interconnection and transmission rights from transmission owners and ISOsParticipate in the preparation of offtake proposals that are submitted to power purchasers, including utilities, community choice aggregators, and commercial and industrial customersManage on-the-ground subcontractors and consultantsOwn the project development budgetSupport project tracking and reporting to the senior management team and investorsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant

The

Director / Senior Director of Development

will have:

8+ years of experience developing utility scale projects, with a preference in the Western US10+ years of industry experienceExposure to developing projects in WECC preferredWell-rounded project management experienceDesire to work in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree is desirableWhat's on Offer

The

will be eligible for:

$220,000 - $250,000 base salaryAnnual bonus of up to 30%Project-milestone bonusesFull healthcare coverageCompetitive 401k planAbility to work 100% remote
