City Lifestyle is a luxury publishing company headquartered in downtown Kansas City, MO that publishes monthly magazines in a franchise model created exclusively for and about the residents of affluent communities across the country. We’re looking for an Advertising Graphic Designer to join our Advertising team. The right candidate should enjoy interacting with a large team of designers virtually, but be comfortable working independently for extended periods of time. Organizationally, our advertising designers need to be methodical, efficient, and productive and enjoy a systematized workflow that functions smoothly and predictably. They should also have marketing experience and customer-focused communication skills so as to effectively assist small local businesses across the country with limited design or advertising experience.Please note that the first stage in the application process is to complete a Culture Index survey. This should take 8-10 minutes.Primary Responsibilities:
Process and complete ad designs for small local business owners who have contracted our services focusing first on the timeliness of approaching deadlines (proofs out within the first two business days of the Ad Deadline) followed by the oldest uploaded request (proof out within 3 business days) while simultaneously upholding the company's brand standards.Uphold the company content policies for all advertising materials by flagging violations in the creative briefs from clients.Fill incomplete ad insertions after the deadline per internal artwork policies via the pick up process paying particular attention to the seasonality of ad messaging and dated promotions.Communicate effectively via the approved communication avenues regarding marketing recommendations, policy violations, and operational issues.Cross-train in the upload and approval process and be prepared to take on that task in times of need.Review all the magazine proofs for their publications to ensure appropriate use of key lines, successful designs, and adherence to branding policies.This individual should possess the following skills/traits:
Methodical, efficient, and productive.Enjoys a systematized workflow.The desire to work in a fast paced environment.Ability to adapt to growth within our rapidly expanding company. The self-induced initiative is greatly desired.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Open to constructive criticism.Job Requirements:
Expert working knowledge of Adobe InDesign.3+ years of professional experience in advertising design, preferably working directly with clients.Residency in the Kansas City metropolitan area.Full-time, work from home — devices will be supplied.Overtime exempt.Driving to onsite cultural activities as requested.Sitting or standing as preferred for long periods of time in front of a computer.No travel required.About Us
