Position SummaryAs a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of firmware for PSG Dover's various measuring instrumentation and control products. You will collaborate with various departments in a fast-paced environment to ensure your products receive the engineering support they need throughout their life cycle. You will work with cross-functional teams to enhance product yields and oversee design specifications. You will work with Quality and Reliability to resolve product issues requiring corrective actions. You will work with engineers to modify your product designs as needed.Qualifications/RequirementsBachelor of CS/EE Engineering.Ten (10) + years of related experience.Hands-on experience in the design and implementation of firmware modules on embedded systems.Hands-on experience with MCU/DSP/FPGA system bring-up, ADC/DAC analog circuit debugging, different hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, etc.Experience working with sensors and sensor data processing.Experience with Industrial communications protocols.Experience in microcontroller, microprocessor, and FPGA-based design and development.Experience in DSP-based systems.Embedded C and Assembly programming is a must; C++/Python/Linux or similar RTOS is a plus.Experience in firmware testing and validation, generating documentation of design, test plan, and test reports.Analytical skills in resolving technical issues with product failures.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms design and development work - firmware development and modification with limited engineering supervision.Code and documentation maintained across product lifetime.Design reviews with internal engineering team or external customers occasionally when required.Collaborating with test engineers in the engineering lab as required to complete product validation testing.Assists in the development of product technical manuals and sales literature.Other essential duties may be assigned as required.Desired CharacteristicsUnderstanding of analog & digital hardware designs is an added advantage.Experience of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, etc.Ability to interpret electrical engineering documentation, i.e., schematics, datasheets, and PCB layout files.Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written communication.Work Arrangement: OnsiteSalary Range: -All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, genetic information, or any other factors prohibited by law.Location:Sub-Division: Malema USAJob Requisition ID: 55540
