About this roleThe

Associate 3D Engineer

supports the Quality Assurance organization by servicing Program Team 3D verification requirements under the guidance of Senior 3D Inspection personnel. This role involves determining dimensional requirements, selecting appropriate verification equipment, and collaborating with Program Quality Engineers (QE’s) and Manufacturing Engineers (ME’s) to deliver accurate reports. The position reports directly to the Director of Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities:

Determine specific Part/Assembly dimensional requirements and acquire inspection data for Inspection Plans (IP) and First Article Inspection Reports (FAI).

Select appropriate equipment to efficiently and accurately verify Parts/Assemblies based on size, access, and tolerance constraints.

Work directly with Program QE’s and ME’s to supply verification reports in the correct format to meet both Program and Customer expectations.

Requirements:

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline, or 2 years related experience in 3D Inspection and/or Quality Assurance Inspection.

Working knowledge of GD&T.

Strong computer skills with good working knowledge of all relevant applications in the Microsoft Office suite.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with CAMIO, Verisurf, CMM Manager, and Spatial Analyzer 3D verification software.

Experience with SolidWorks, ProE, Catia, and AutoCAD solid modeling software.

General level:

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years’ experience or a total of 10 years’ experience in the related field.

Senior level:

Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years’ experience or a total of 15 years’ experience in the related field.

The salary range for this role is $68,000-$120,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this open role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
