The Director of Product Management, Direct Tax is responsible for visioning, defining, and delivering industry-leading Tax software products, leading and coaching a team of product managers, and delivering our Direct Tax products, including our industry-leading products GoSystem Tax and ONESOURCE. In this role, you will contribute to that mission by being responsible for establishing a customer-backed, inspirational vision, strategy, multi-year discovery and delivery roadmaps, and ongoing end-to-end product lifecycle management for TR’s Direct Tax Products working with IRS. In partnership with compliance, engineering, design, customer proposition/product marketing, sales, and other product leaders and teams, you will turn our product strategy into compelling product offering(s) for customers as well as frictionless migration paths for existing customers across customer segments.

About the Role:As a Director, Product Management, you will:

Manage, build, and grow an inclusive team of high-performing product managers focused on customer empathy, continuous learning & experimentation, and iterative delivery of value.Drive product vision and strategy by developing a deep understanding of customer needs, market and technology trends, and business opportunities.Define Product Discovery and Product Delivery roadmaps and enable teams to execute in parallel on both Learning Plans and agile delivery of customer value.Enable revenue generation across customer sub-segments by creating innovative solutions and delivering high-quality, high-impact products and services.Support customer sub-segment and go-to-market teams with product launches and ongoing sales efforts with customer visits, and other forms of customer engagement activities.Contribute to the growth of the global Thomson Reuters Product Management community and the transformation of Thomson Reuters from a “holding company to an operating company” with shared capabilities and connections across the product portfolio.You will establish a working relationship with the Internal Revenue Service to architect, design, and deliver the solution.

Key Activities:Owns the product creation and delivery process that delivers delightful customer experiences and drives business impact from concept to design, delivery, experimentation, support, and launch for the Accounting & Advisory product line.Supports setting long-term Income Tax and Accounting product strategy and roadmap that is rooted in a deep understanding of customer’s needs and the strengths and weaknesses of competitive products; ensuring that priorities align with the overall ATP and TR business strategy.Envisions and articulates the problem, opportunity, and solution to customers, cross-functional product-build teams, and internal stakeholders.In collaboration with other product leaders, helps support process to coordinate/leverage/streamline legislative and compliance changes across the product portfolio through tooling and other enablement capabilities.Develops and leads a best-in-class team of product managers in the successful execution of the strategic roadmap.Develops strong cross-functional relationships (with technology, customer experience design, marketing, sales, etc.) to deliver high-value, innovative experiences to TR customers.Drives strategic projects outside their specific area of product ownership that will help shape long-term business strategy.

About You:Defines, monitors, and executes the product & business plans to meet or exceed product, revenue, cost, and growth goals for the Accounting & Advisory product line.Product roadmap - outlines the path towards achieving vision and growth objectives including revenue, profit, market share, and return on investment for all business channels and key customers, in the short and long term.Product Discovery and Delivery roadmaps that are ruthlessly prioritized based on strategy, data, customer insights, and business objectives to deliver the most impactful, high-quality solutions to our customers.Delivery of high-quality, high-value products, experiences, and services in partnership with technology, content teams, etc. with a focus on continuous improvements in the agile development process.Value articulation for new products and enhancements in collaboration with sub-segments and marketing.Preferred Qualifications:8+ years of broad technology Product Management experience, with primary ownership for driving product line strategy, delivery, and iteration. People management experience preferred.Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science preferred or equivalent experience.Ability to quickly build relationships with customers. Experience working with the IRS is preferred.Significant experience in building and leading best-in-class Product Management teams – including leading direct reports and matrixed cross-functional team members – to achieve product and business objectives.Proven ability to build customer-backed vision, develop product strategy, set direction, and accelerate change needed to impact short and long-term results.Skilled at ensuring product teams have complete, high-quality requirements, including business, functional, and technical voices, and effective, iterative testing cycles to support high-quality software delivery.Skilled at relentlessly prioritizing to drive customer market value while balancing key stakeholder input.Proven experience in collaborating and influencing at all levels within the organization and across all functions; strengths in collaborating with and leaning into marketing and customer market development; comfortable with going deep into critical technology decisions.Previous experience with defining and launching cloud-based (SaaS) and hybrid B2B solutions with a proven track record of modernizing desktop/on-premise products.Creates excitement among stakeholders and team members by setting the bar high, and then inspiring action, communicating values, and serving as a mentor/coach to squad members.Comfortable driving experiments that value both success and failure as key learning opportunities, and leveraging data to make improvements accordingly.Entrepreneurial approach: willing to ’roll up sleeves,’ be innovative, take risks; move fast; is passionate, a self-starter, persistent despite obstacles; comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements.High-energy and highly collaborative, even in challenging situations; results-oriented with strong time management skills, very organized and driven to succeed.Experience with B2B, and SaaS product management, preferably with enterprise, financial, tax, and accounting solutions is strongly preferred; experience with mature revenue-generating products is required.Broad business and technical acumen, with knowledge of technology trends, experience driving product-led growth, and design-centered thinking.Excellent skills in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Aha!, Microsoft Azure DevOps, and other product management and team collaboration tools is preferred.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $173,300 - $321,800. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
