Summary: This position will serve as Subject Matter Expert to validate data, challenge the state of data quality, and continuously drive improvements through better and higher definition data analysis. The Data Governance team's goal is the continuous measurement of data quality, quicken the pace of anomaly detection, and drive data quality improvements at the source resulting in faster cycle times for data remediation.
What You Will Do
Create pipelines and processes to import large, complex data sets into cloud (snowflake) environmentDevelop algorithms to transform, compare and analyze data into useful, actionable insightsIdentify, design and implement process improvements for faster repeatable reporting processDevelop and implement data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and qualityDevelop checks for staging and loading dataAssist with data-related technical issuesAcquire data from various sources and reload updated data into the databasesParticipate in central data cleansing activities to accelerate data quality remediationParticipate in data quality improvement initiatives and projects.Attend meetings with various data governance groups and Subject Matter Experts (SME) from the client and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
What we're looking for:
Skilled in communicating on complex topics and solutions and must be open to ideas from othersAbility to build and optimize data sets, big data data pipelines and architecturesWell versed in SQL, and Snowflake environments. Able to create repeatable data load and ETL processes using python scriptsPerform root cause analysis on processes and dataExcellent analytic skills working on unstructured datasetsAbility to build processes that support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency & metadataExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsMust have working knowledge of bank processes and controlsExperience working in a formal risk controls environment with strong understanding of scheduled deliverablesWell versed in a collaborative/ team-focused environment directly communicating with Managers and peers dailyExperience with programming, technology, and tooling such as R, Python, SQL, Snowflake, Azure, Git, Informatica IICS, Tableau, Power BI, Business ObjectsEmphasis in Regulatory Reporting experience preferredAbility to understand the business context and regulatory requirements in order to define data quality functional requirements and standardsOCR experience preferred but not required
