Location:Central OfficesA Technology Support Specialist will demonstrate abilities required for supporting software and hardware within the educational community including experience in installing PC hardware, interactive whiteboards, other computer peripherals, installing and supporting applications on PCs and tablets. The Technology Support Specialist will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be committed to a positive team environment. He/she should be able to work independently within classroom settings. An associate's degree in a computer related field or comparable experience is needed for this position. The Technology Support Specialist must possess the capability to perform physical labor, lifting 30 lbs over head, and climbing ladders.

REPORTS TO : Technology Director

JOB GOAL:

To assist the Senior Tech Support Specialist in supporting classroom technology needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Make certain that IT resources are easily accessible and outfitted with current software and hardware requirements.Maintain an accurate log through the district's Helpdesk of all necessary maintenance and repairs performed on the job.Maintain, organize, and repair hardware, software, and all classroom technology peripherals.Give the necessary support and training to other employees when requested through the district's Helpdesk.Be prompt arriving at work and to any appointments / assignments.Agree to, understand, and operate under the department operating procedures.Be available for team communications by email/text/voice/slack.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keep track and effectively maintain IT resources to assure optimal access for those students and staff with special needs or disabilities.Offer suggestions about potential technology resources purchase to teaching and support staff.Participate in Technology Staff Professional Development.Determine and prepare hardware equipment that needs to be replaced and ensure that all equipment that is disposed of was properly checked, stripped of critical school / staff information, and file appropriate disposal forms.Carry out other associated tasks when requested during work hours.Work closely with the business department and other IT team members in correctly filing forms for the acquisition, transfer, and disposal of equipment and IT assets.
