The Role
The Senior Buyer / Planner plays a critical role in overseeing the planning and buying of direct and indirect items and maintaining inventory levels.Meeting and exceeding OTD for customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsible for working with various departments while upholding quality standards and meeting customer demands.The Accountabilities
Meeting Customer Demands, timely delivery of products, minimizing lead times, improving customer satisfactionDevelop and implement procurement strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet production schedulesCost Control - Accurate demand forecasting to assist with minimizing inventory holding costs, eliminate bottlenecks and contribute to cost savingsSupport new product development and lifecycle managementImprove Production Efficiency - Streamline production processes, reduce waste and optimize production flowCoordination and Collaboration - Manufacturing planning and scheduling, involving cross functional teamsContinuous Improvement - Help monitor production performance, evaluating schedules to help areas of opportunitiesPlanning, scheduling, and coordinating production of the company’s productsEvaluating raw materials to ensure everything is in place for productionReporting on the production status and any production issues to upper managementHandling production disruptions and productivity problemsCommitted to a high level of accuracy and attention to detailPropose and drive supply chain optimization projectsThe Typical Experiences
Minimum 7 years of experience in buying and planning in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Medical Device industryWell versed in ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite preferred)Advanced planning skillsNew Product Introduction (NPI) planning, sourcing and buyingAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of data extraction and high-level reportingAdvanced knowledge of inventory management (forecasting, planning and reconciliation)Contract negotiations with suppliersPrevious Quality Assurance experience in a regulated environment (ISO13485)Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business preferred, or equivalent work experience
$115,000 - $125,000 a year
