The Bookstore Student Sales Associate is responsible for performing a variety of retail duties including assisting customers with merchandise, unloading merchandise, stocking shelves, processing sales through cash register, reconciling cash drawer at end of shift, answering telephone, greeting customers, and assisting with other sales floor related projects.Reports To

Must be a current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours or more for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours for the Summer semesterORA current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.ANDExperience handling cash and non-cash transactions.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Exceptional customer service skills.Ability to operate a calculator.Physical Demands/Working Conditions
This position requires medium work: occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force, frequently exerting up to 20 pounds of force, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The person must frequently communicate with and listen to colleagues and customers, move about the Bookstore, remain in a standing position, operate a computerized point of sale system, and use upper and lower body to exert force to pull, grasp, and/or lift materials or equipment.Work Hours
Scheduled as needed for no more than 25 hours per week between the hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Job Duties
Greet and assist Bookstore customers in selecting merchandise.Accurately enter and correctly receipt merchandise for resale into the computerized point of sale system.Verify beginning cash drawer at start of shift and reconcile drawer at the end of the shift.Receive payments in the form of cash, checks, and credit cards, and give change when necessary for the merchandise sold.Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons of the Bookstore.Required Documents
