An automation advisor will work in a multidisciplinary development team to exploit oil and gas across multiple basins. Candidate should have significant experience and expertise in various parts of petroleum processing preferred but not mandatory. The advisor will be expected to:Design and optimize HMI and automated process control systems on facilities, compressor stations, and pump stations.Assist in developing safety practices per facility.Document controls for operational management.Coordinate with operations groups to guide operational problems and maintenance.Create training programs for automation personnel.Assist in managing field personnel during commissioning of facilities.Ensure all electrical cabling, connections, tray, etc. are installed in accordance with all applicable API/IEEE standards.Create bid documents and coordinate with contractors to award work.
Job Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a similar role is required. Must be very organized to self-direct, self-start, multi-task and prioritize. A college degree or licensing is desired; a high school diploma or GED is required. Oil and gas experience in midstream and processing is preferred, but not required. Must have good communication skills and possess ability to work with field personnel and operational management. Planned travel is required. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
