Overview

We are seeking a full-time

IT Manager

in our Miramar, FL location. Come be a part of our market-leading, premium audio team, and the global Garmin family. In this role, you will be responsible for leading daily IT & Security activities to ensure the business is provided with timely, high-quality, reliable, and accurate IT & Security systems and functions critical to Garmin.Essential FunctionsProvide operational leadership for various levels of IT & Security team members, setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management.Engage with other Global IT & Security leaders to ensure alignment of local team and initiatives to Garmin’s strategies.Collaborate with other Global IT & Security leaders to ensure delivery of critical IT & Security applications and technologies.Communicate and coordinate effectively across departments, ensuring business requirements are met.Research and recommend new technologies, processes, and solutions to meet business needs and continually improve the productivity and effectiveness of the team.Lead tactical and strategic methods to best leverage the use of the IT & Security Business Analytics, Asset Management, and the IT & Security Application Portfolio for day-to-day business and decision support functions.Participate in regular or special meetings of the IT & Security team to address strategies, integration, progression, and/or issues needing escalation or problem-solving.Exhibit a customer/supplier philosophy that emphasizes both internal and external relationships.Ensure Security best practices are incorporated into deployed applications and systems.Manage the acquisition, deployment, and tracking of purchased computer software assets per Garmin’s policies and procedures.Build and maintain high performing team(s) by recruiting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent.Promote team member engagement and effectiveness by providing constructive feedback and promoting personal development, including writing and conducting annual performance appraisals.Develop and manage team and individual performance and capacity metrics to identify successful operations or areas where improvement is needed, while also working to ensure that all organizational objectives are met.Demonstrate ongoing personal development, professional growth, and continuous education.Accept, develop and execute projects and other miscellaneous IT & Security duties as assigned.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT Technology experience AND 3 years previous IT management experience.Experience in IT strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development.Technical knowledge of network, operating systems, IT Security principles, and IT architecture, including cloud and virtual environments.Exposure to systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.Demonstrated knowledge of business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.Demonstrated knowledge of methods and practices for the implementation, maintenance, and support of information systems and applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT.Proven track record of project delivery, including the coordination and management of projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Proven track record of IT & Security Incident Management, including the coordination and management of production impacting incidents, problem management, and design/deployment of irreversible corrective actions.Proficient knowledge of analysis, design configuration, and support of complex IT systems.Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Desired QualificationsFamiliarity with current technology platforms such as Windows, Linux, and cloud services.Understanding of ITIL, Quality Standards, and Best Practices.Management of experience in Supply Chain industry, Cloud and/or web application development environments.Experience supporting enterprise business applications, including ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Warehouse Management, and Manufacturing Execution Systems.Experience with Agile Scrum Methodology.Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
