COGS has partnered with a multi million dollar construction company (amongst the oldest and top 10 demolition contractors in the US) as they seek a Regional Safety Manager to join their team due to their ongoing expansion in the Potomac, VA market.
Due to increased market demand for their services, they are in growth mode and expanding! This has led to increased opportunities for career trajectory and hence they are looking for a Safety Manager to take ownership of their safety procedures.
This position is 5 days a week on site near Potomac, VA with salary up to 130K DOE.
Responsibilities:
Conduct daily audits of work areas, offering safety expertise and addressing deficiencies, while ensuring effective communication with the project team and field leadership.
Prepare professional reports, conduct safety briefings, and act as the spokesperson for site safety issues, including researching and addressing safety questions and concerns.
Resolve site safety issues, provide emergency responses as needed, and address concerns.
Identify and implement necessary safety program elements to comply with customer and regulatory requirements, including leading comprehensive investigations of incidents and following up to ensure long-term resolution.
Conduct safety training, testing, and record-keeping for all personnel on site, including new hire orientation and specific equipment and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related field is preferred.
Holding a professional safety certification, such as Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) or Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST), ASP, CSP, is preferred.
Training in OSHA 500, highly preferred.
Minimum 5 years of relevant safety construction experience.
