is currently seeking a

Hotel Controller

to manage the property's day-to-day accounting functions and provide the General Manager and Corporate Office with accurate and relevant financial data to ensure the smooth operation of the property. This position is responsible for the administration of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general cashiering, income auditing, and general ledger functions.Our caring and attentive associates reinforce our principal belief that guest service is our highest priority. Manage the day-to-day aspects of the property’s Accounting Department, including, but not limited to: AR, AP, month-end reporting, cash flow projections, annual budget preparations, and overseeing all activities relating to the financial aspects of the hotel and restaurant.Implement procedures and systems as directed by Study Hotel’s corporate office and enforce policies, procedures, and brand standards.Review and report on the hotel and restaurant’s positions in areas of income, expense, and earnings, based on past, present, and future operations and validate completeness and accuracy to the General Manager and Study Hotel’s corporate office.Ensure the accurate and timely payment for all vendors, including fees relating to federal, state, and local taxes, licenses, permits, and regulatory contracts.Work with department leads to proactively assist with purchase orders, cost control, revenue enhancement possibilities, and monthly reporting requirements.Work alongside the General Manager in creating the annual budget. Manage the processes, facilitate meetings, and gather feedback from department leads.Act as the property’s “check and balance” in all financial aspects. Review all revenue adjustments, paid-out vouchers, and complimentary guest amenities. Scrutinize orders, invoices, and checks for reasonableness and proper authorization.Coordinate with the Information Technology team to ensure effective systems are in place to streamline processes and reduce costs to process payable transactions.Fundamentals

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred.Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a similar role within the hospitality industry, with a proven advancement record and currently employed in a management position.Skilled in the use of advanced, moderately complex, Property Management, Point of Sale, Accounting, and Time & Attendance Systems.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.Possess a thorough knowledge of Accounting practices and procedures including the Uniform Systems of Accounts for the Hotel Industry.Proficient with US, State, and Local tax regulations.Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.Strong organizational skills including follow-up, time management, ability to multi-task, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Ability to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departments, external vendors, and guests.Study Hotels is a drug-free workplace.
