This role is based in NYC, and you will be expected in the office a few days a week at minimum.
Responsibilities
Project Management: maintain timetables, costing and managing development for packaging of Turnkey programs.
Responsible for overall form, fit and function of custom tooled projects across multiple beauty categories.
Interact with Creative, Marketing (internal or customer), Product Development, Retailer and/or Distribution Center for the timely launch of projects.
Ensure all required testing parameters are accurately performed for package development.
Responsible for direct interface with our China office and North America Factories, ensuring all packaging aspects of the Project are in line with established costs, timing, and quality.
Costing, to stay +/- 10 percent in development and +/- 5 in production for documented cost of goods.
Establish Bill of Materials, Fill and Assembly instructions, and Specifications.
Hold Marketing, Sales, and Creative in conjunction with Project Manager, manage and update timetables weekly to ensure all parties are aware of critical project dates.
Clear working knowledge of Timetables and Cost Sheets and Development.
Attend weekly internal Production meetings to ensure that open purchase orders are prioritized and production dates are firm and on schedule.
Prioritize workload and critical issues pertaining to the core development of Turnkey projects.
24-hour Rule: Make a concerted effort to acknowledge and/or address all inquiries within 24 hours upon receipt.
Additional duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the VP of Package Development, as required and necessary to support the workflow of the department.
Maintain a positive attitude & foster a positive working environment at all times.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical field, preferably in Packaging, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
0-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within packaging and product management field.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of complex tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Able to travel 20% of the time.
Experience working with overseas manufacturers, especially in China.
Experience with turnkey custom package development and project management.
What We Offer
$90,000/yr - $105,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus plan based on individual and company performance.
