We are seeking a strategic and roll-up-your-sleeves Accounting Manager to join our Finance team to position us for the next phase in our Company’s growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial reporting. They would enjoy implementing process improvements, engaging in problem-solving and collaborating with others to drive accounting and reporting compliance and excellence. The primary purpose of this position is to provide accurate and timely accounting and financial information while coordinating the daily operations of the finance team to ensure compliance with general accounting and reporting standards.

The Accounting Manager partners with and supports team members across all functions of the Company in accounting and finance-related matters.

What You'll Do:

Perform and review general accounting operational processing and reconciliation including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, accrued liabilities, and other general ledger accounts.

Manage general ledger accounts and related reconciliations, managing month-end close processes, and preparing financial, managerial, and compliance reporting.

Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including invoice processing, billing, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and receivables collection.

Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations for all GL accounts.

Manage month-end close in NetSuite to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Prepare financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures.

Work with Company management and team members to foster understanding of accounting workflows across all functional areas of the Company (sales, operations, etc.).

Ensure proper internal controls, including compliance with Company policies and procedures and all other statutory requirements.

Assess current practices, policies, procedures and make recommendations to improve internal controls and processes, ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.

Analyze data on operational costs to support management decision-making processes.

Assist with the preparation of activity reports, variance analyses, financial forecasts, and budgets. Support management during the budget and forecasting processes.

Coordinate with outside auditors and tax professionals to provide needed information including managing the preparation of year-end audit and tax work papers.

Develop KPI goals related to financial objectives and accounting processes.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Complete special projects as assigned in the areas of insurance, payroll, benefits, taxes, sales, and general operations.

Who You Are:

Minimum of 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Preference given to candidates with at least 2 years of public accounting experience.

Preference given to candidates with construction or manufacturing experience.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Proficiency in NetSuite is preferred.

Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

A thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

The ability to establish and implement policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and process efficiencies.

Demonstrates initiative to thoughtfully research and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company and finance policies and procedures.

Exercises independent judgment in assessing and performing intermediate to advanced accounting tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of the Company.

Excellent management and supervisory skills.

Must be comfortable handling confidential information with the utmost discretion.

Promotes professionalism and a passion for excellence, in all business relationships including clients, vendors, service providers, and co-workers.

For CA based applicants:

The base salary for this position is $140,000 - $150,000.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of stock options.
