In this position you will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".The work schedule for this position will be : Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-6:30pm with a varying start time. Required to work rotating weekends with other Techs - Saturday and Sunday for 4 hrs. Required to rotate holidays with other Techs.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.Assist with processing of specimens when needed.Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.Requirements:Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Lab Science or other related field such as Biology or Chemistry is required. If B.S. is in a physical science other than Medical Technology, the applicant must be qualified under the regulation of CLIA '88 as a Medical Technologist.A minimum of 5 years of clinical lab testing experience with human specimens is required.Hematology and Chemistry experience is required.ASCP certification preferred.This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
