No prior experience in formal QA testing is required if coming from a System Administration background.At Kandji, we use an embedded team model for our QA Engineers. You will be placed directly on a development team and work with software engineers, product managers, and UX designers. As the QA representative on the development team, you will own all of the functional testing requirements for that project, uphold quality best practices, and communicate effectively with all team members and stakeholders. You will be expected to proactively build and execute test plans, manage larger testing projects, and work in tandem with developers/product/ux to deliver the highest quality features/code for our customers. You will also be responsible for maintaining and growing our automated test coverage via Playwright. Overall, we are looking for testers who can exhibit a high amount of ownership, technical aptitude, passion, and communication to bring our team to the next level.How you'll make a difference day to dayManage, drive, and own the entire functional testing process for your scrum teamDevelop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, swarm test sessions, and test proceduresPerform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testingReproduce, diagnose, and document software defects with clarity and precisionEngage in early product development discussions to ideate, review, and catch potential issues before code is writtenAttend and contribute to daily scrum ceremoniesWork closely with developers to identify and iterate on all code moving through the systemContribute to growing our automation test coverage and maintenance of testsMaintain high levels of communication with all team members, stakeholders, and the QA teamBe the champion for our users by upholding quality standards and best practicesMinimum Qualifications2+ years of experience in a device management or software testing roleExcellent time management, organization, communication, and problem-solving skillsDetail-oriented, methodical, and out-of-the-box thinkingRequired to work on-site 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Managers may require additional on-site days.Nice to have, but not requiredExceptional knowledge of QA fundamentals and best practices: test strategies, test planning, test execution, defect management, reporting, etc.5+ years in a device management or software testing roleExperience with issue-tracking systems, such as Jira, Rally, Trello, etc.Exposure to Agile development environments and associated scrum activities, such as planning, grooming, retrospective, etc.Experience with test case management systems, such as TestRail, qTest, Zephyr, etc.Extensive hands-on experience testing or managing the deployment of Apple hardware, software, and servicesSignificant knowledge in the areas of Apple hardware and software integration within an enterprise setting, including printers, WiFi, directory services, Kerberos, SSO, etc.Fluency with shell scripting, Python, and/or the macOS command lineComfortable using terminal to execute commands, run scripts, etc.Knowledge of the MDM spaceAbility to test API requests via Postman or other similar toolsExperience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, AWS CodePipelineExperience working with IDE’s and GitExperience with Playwright automationSalary$135,000 - $170,000 a year
