Provide servant-leadership and embraces and models CEC values.Represent CEC professionally and technically with Technical, Marketing, and Industry groups to maximize CEC’s exposure to the Construction Industry.Develops, fosters, and maintains client relationships. Pursues repeat or follow-up work with current clients. Collaborates with Marketing and Business Development staff to respond to new business opportunities, including engaging in preparation of proposals, interviews, and presentations.Develops and maintains a client base.Ensures the quality, accuracy, and completeness of work; and provides training, technical and administrative guidance, mentoring, and instruction to personnel in the practice.Coordinates and implements training programs and initiatives to support departmental growth and goals.Develops and implements departmental technical standards and procedures, including quality control/quality assurance processes. Assists in the development and coordination of practice and inter-departmental standards and procedures.Sets priorities, assigns tasks, coordinates project staff to meet project/client targets and milestones.Trains, manages, and reviews performance of employees as necessary during the project and/or as pertains to services provided to a long-term client or contract.Performs Construction Manager duties on a project-by-project basis, including but not limited to:

Serves as the direct contact with the project contractor and manages project communication.Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in substantial compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.Inspects materials and components of roadway and/or bridge projects, work in progress, and finished construction to ensure all applicable standards and safety codes are met.Interprets and applies contract requirements for administration of pay applications, change orders, and other construction documents.Coordinates project testing lab resources to ensure quality assurance testing is performed per contract requirements.Collaborates with other Construction Managers and Inspectors to promote the CEI values of teamwork and communication.

Provides project management at a client level, troubleshoots, and negotiates complex client-designer-contractor conflicts.Maintains awareness of and executes corporate policies and procedures to ensure consistent departmental application and compliance.Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.Maintains equipment and/or vehicle in good working condition and reports problems or repairs needed in a timely manner.COMPETENCIES

Minimum of 10 years construction management experience.Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.English language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, managers, clients, vendors, and the public, including responding effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.Mathematical skills: ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc., as well as proficiency with specialized engineering design software. Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.Organizational skills: ability to prioritize and organize tasks; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Remote connectivity device with data plan sufficient for company requirements, such as multi-factor authentication, time and mileage tracking, expense reimbursement, e-mail, and virtual communications.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.Ability to talk and hear.Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.Ability to sit up to eight hours per day.Ability to manipulate computer mouse up to eight hours per day.Ability to stand and/or walk, including over uneven surfaces, for extended periods of time.Ability to occasionally bend, crouch or stoop.Ability to see clearly 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more; ability to identify and distinguish colors; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.Occasionally outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.), dust, dirt, cuts, bites, or stings.Requires use of protective and/or safety equipment.WORK SCHEDULE

Standard schedule of 40 hours per week between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.May be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.May be required to work non-standard hours and schedules that include on-call and callouts.CEC is an equal opportunity employer.
