Responsible for a broad range of IP services in order to protect the organization's legal interests and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Draft and prosecute US patent applications.Manage patent and trademark portfolios.Management of outside counsel working on IP-related matters.Supporting/lead role in the development of patentability, validity, infringement, freedom-to-practice opinions and patent searching.Frequent interaction with the R&D and product development teams.Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.Education and Experience:Registered US patent attorney, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, well grounded in patent drafting and prosecution, preferably on a world-wide basis.Specific experience in orthopedic or spine industries is desirable.The position will have responsibility for the IP of multiple Arthrex product groups.Must also be a graduate of an accredited law school and a member in good standing of a state bar.Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:Advanced writing, comprehensive reading, communication and research skills required.
