If you are driven by quality and efficiency, we want you to help us continue our growth and success.Job Summary:As the Director of Residential Architecture, you will lead, mentor, and oversee a team of interior designers, residential architectural draftsmen, and purchasing agents. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the creation of industry-leading designs and optimal floor plans for each home, maximizing return on investment. You will collaborate with team members to set clear design directives, adhering to budget and brand identity while driving production timelines and managing project analysis.Duties and Responsibilities:Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA)Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of interior designers, residential architectural draftsmen, and purchasing agents, ensuring industry-leading designs and optimal floor plans are created for each home.Maintain and promote positive relationships with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.Develop and manage systems and processes for plan production, interior design, and procurement, ensuring efficiency and quality, and promoting continuous improvement.Facilitate team meetings, promote a collaborative work environment, and supervise project correspondences to ensure effective communication.Oversee participation in project design meetings and encourage the design team to propose improvements and innovative solutions.Perform other related duties as assigned, ensuring the team remains focused, efficient, and aligned in their roles.Guide the Interior Design and Drafting team to collaborate, challenge one another, and develop exceptional revised floor plans that meet project goals.Ensure that the team creates attractive and efficient floor plans that maximize the investment opportunity for each home.Craft intentional and beautiful spaces throughout homes, showcasing thoughtful design and innovative use of space.Collaborate with Directors of Real Estate Investments, Project Managers & Acquisition Managers to determine initial goals and set clear design directives for each project.Interior Finish SelectionsDevelop and establish market-leading interior finish selections and installation techniques to ensure high-quality results.Ensure cohesive designs that respect neighborhood characteristics, original architecture, and buyer expectations.Maintain current knowledge of trends, materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design and ensure the Design Team is informed and up-to-date.Lead the internal semi-annual design presentations showcasing new materials, colors, updated mood boards, and collections of material samples.PurchasingManage the purchasing team to ensure procurement aligns with project specifications, design intent, and budget.Oversee data entry and record-keeping for material procurement in compliance with company policies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Virtual Floor Plans and CAD FilesCoordinate the collection of virtual floor plans and creation of CAD files for all projects, ensuring deadlines are met.Maintain acceptable timeline for production of plan sets and design intentions, ensuring deadlines are met.Ensure collaboration with Project Managers and Design team to assess structural constraints and update plans accordingly.Supervise the creation of project plans, including existing, demo, and revised floor plans, lighting plan, window, door and material schedules, kitchen, bathroom, laundry & mud room elevations, feature wall and fireplace elevations, using AutoCAD.Oversee the preparation of renderings and permit plans sets as needed, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.Minimum of eight (8) years of verifiable interior design experience, preferably in residential projects.At least three (3) years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role overseeing a team of interior designers.Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software.Comprehensive understanding of residential construction means and methods.Strong project management skills with experience in overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to communicate and relate to a diverse staff and stakeholders in a courteous and professional manner.Experience in developing and managing project budgets.Ability to monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures effectively.High level of integrity and ethical standards.Strong spatial awareness and ability to envision new spaces and layouts to maximize the potential of a home.Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and advancements.Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.Must have a valid Driver’s License.Physical Requirements:The nature of the position requires frequent travel to and from various locations within the County. Occasionally, travel may be required to neighboring counties.May on occasion require prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and standing.Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 45lbs.Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist.Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders or stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
