Summary

UES Southeast Region is seeking an experienced senior-level

Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist

to join our Environmental Services Department in Atlanta. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years in environmental consulting, with extensive experience in environmental due diligence, remediation, proposal writing, and client interaction/management. A successful track record of executing and managing environmental projects in Georgia is essential. Experience with Georgia EPD’s USTMP, Brownfield, HSRA, and VRP Programs is highly desirable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage environmental projects, including site characterization, due diligence, property transactional services, remedial designs and implementation, and preparation of reports and other related documentation.

Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, and remedial designs to address contaminated soil, groundwater, and sediment under a variety of regulatory programs with high attention to detail and quality.

Interpret environmental data and develop site-specific conceptual site models.

Evaluate and design remedial alternatives to address site contaminants.

Conduct environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting as required.

Develop and network with new and existing clients to effectively position for and develop work opportunities.

Prepare contract proposals and cost estimates.

Manage project contracts, staff, budgets, and schedules.

Perform, analyze and report on specific environmental project tasks under general supervision and research and recommend solutions to technical problems in accordance with accepted scientific/engineering practices and principles.

Play an active role in the mentorship and development of junior and mid-level staff on environmental projects.

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.

10 years of environmental consulting experience, with a strong focus on soil and groundwater assessments and remediation.

P.G. or P.E. preferred.

Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

Working knowledge of federal & state environmental regulations (GAEPD USTMP, HSRA, Brownfield) and good research skills and abilities.

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills including strong proficiency in results-oriented technical report writing with high attention to detail and quality.

Demonstrated abilities in leadership, management, and administration.

Ability and willingness to collaborate and support other team members by successfully working alongside others and contribute to overall team success.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments in a dynamic work environment while maintaining high attention to detail and quality to meet deadlines within budget.
