The Center for Translational Vision Research at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, under the direction of Dr. Krzysztof Palczewski, is currently accepting applications for Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholar positions.

We are seeking applications from graduate students or recent Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. graduates in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields. Candidates with interdisciplinary skills and experience in genome editing are strongly desired. The selected candidates will perform various lab tasks and work on current research projects related to ocular diseases.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting experimental research in molecular biology and biochemistry with a focus on ocular diseases.

Designing and executing experiments involving genome editing techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9.

Analyzing and interpreting experimental data and maintaining accurate and detailed research records.

Collaborating with other researchers and contributing to the development of new research projects.

Preparing and presenting research findings at lab meetings, conferences, and in scientific publications.

Assisting in the preparation of grant applications and progress reports.

Training and mentoring junior lab members, including undergraduate students and technicians.

Ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program or possess a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Ophthalmology, or a related field.
