The Surgery Technician Lead is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases, pulling cases as needed, and breaking down cases at the end of the procedure. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment, and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. The Surgical Technician Lead performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery. The Surgical Technician Lead may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency. The Surgical Technician Lead has additional responsibilities of orienting/onboarding new employees and overseeing shift operations with schedules, assignments, and coordination of resources.What qualifications you will need:Basic Life Support (BLS)Certified Surgical Technician (CST) from NBSTSATwo years of experience as a Surgery TechnicianGraduate from a program for Operating Room TechsAdvanced knowledge in the scrub role and demonstrated proficiency in multiple service lines/specialties.Expert specialized skills in at least one service line.Displays appropriate judgement and problem-solving skills.Demonstrates good organizational skills.Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.Demonstrated competence with patient care information systems including Meditech and Microsoft Office programs.Ability to educate staff using adult learning principles.Wesley Medical Center is a member of the Wesley Healthcare network within Greater Wichita and has been an HCA Healthcare hospital since 1985.
