This role requires extensive experience in civil litigation, including drafting legal documents, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and handling court appearances. Experience in business development, client management, and independent case management is preferred. The successful candidate must possess excellent academic credentials and demonstrate superior research and writing skills.Duties:Provide expert legal advice on insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, dispositive motions, and other litigation-related materials.Manage all phases of the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, coordinating document production, and resolving discovery disputes.Conduct depositions and represent clients in court appearances, including hearings and trials.Develop and implement case strategies, ensuring effective and efficient case management.Engage in business development activities to attract new clients and expand the firm's client base.Maintain and build client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service.Stay current with developments in insurance and reinsurance law and industry practices.Requirements:2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.Proven experience in drafting legal documents, managing discovery, conducting depositions, and representing clients in court.Preferred experience in business development, client management, and independent case management.Excellent academic credentials with a strong track record in research and writing.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Michigan State Bar or eligibility to practice in Michigan.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Exceptional writing and verbal communication abilities.Proven capability in managing complex insurance and reinsurance litigation.Effective client relationship management and business development skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
