Originally founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874, the hospital offers a full range of vascular, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, surgical, rehabilitative, and 24/7 emergency services including 24/7 STEMI service.
Mary & Elizabeth Hospital is home to UofL Health – Weight Loss Care, the region’s only weight-loss management program utilizing the Lap-Band System. The hospital has been recognized as one of the first health care facilities in the nation to receive a Blue Distinction Center for bariatric surgery. Recently, the hospital partnered with UofL Health – Peace Hospital to open a voluntary inpatient medical detox unit for patients with substance use disorders.

ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.
Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs
Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders
Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky
Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
