Position Responsibilities:Reporting to the President/Executive Management for one of the world's leading transportation and logistics companies, conducting business through a worldwide network of business partners. For nearly half a century, the company has been a provider of specialized freight transportation, heavy haul transport, commercial building transportation, flatbed transportation, crane and rigging services, recreational vehicle transportation, 3PL & 4PL logistics, warehouse management, supply chain solutions, and government-specific transportation services.The Transportation Logistics Vice President is a senior executive responsible for leading and overseeing the entire 3PL transportation logistics division of the organization. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and execution of all transportation activities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality service delivery. The Vice President will drive innovation, continuous improvement, and strategic partnerships to enhance the company’s transportation logistics operations.Strategic Leadership and Planning:

Develop and execute the strategic vision for the transportation logistics division, aligning with the company's overall goals and objectives. Formulate long-term plans to enhance transportation logistics capabilities and market position.Operational Oversight:

Provide executive oversight of daily transportation logistics operations, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant processes. Lead the optimization of inbound and outbound transportation activities to improve service levels and reduce costs.Executive Management:

Collaborate with senior management to integrate transportation logistics strategies with overall business strategies. Report on transportation logistics performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives to the executive team.Fleet and Carrier Management:

Oversee the management and optimization of the third-party carriers and relationships. Negotiate high-value contracts and strategic partnerships with carriers, ensuring competitive rates and superior service.Innovation and Technology:

Drive the adoption of advanced transportation management systems (TMS) and other technologies to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. Stay at the forefront of industry trends and innovations to maintain a competitive edge.Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of transportation logistics professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Implement talent development programs to build leadership capabilities within the transportation logistics team.Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure adherence to all transportation regulations and industry standards. Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions and enhance supply chain resilience.Financial Management:

Oversee the transportation logistics budget, ensuring cost control and optimal allocation of resources. Drive initiatives to improve financial performance, including cost reduction and revenue enhancement strategies.Customer Relationship Management:

Foster strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and addressing any transportation-related issues.
