Career Associate Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Career Associate Attorney with over 5 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance law. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurance coverage issues, including professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies. The role demands exceptional academic credentials and a proven ability in legal research and writing.Duties:Advise clients on complex insurance coverage issues related to professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.Analyze and interpret insurance policies and coverage disputes to provide strategic legal counsel.Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, dispositive motions, and briefs.Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed memoranda on various legal issues.Represent clients in litigation, managing all aspects of discovery, including motion practice, depositions, and court appearances.Handle case management independently, from initial client consultations through trial or settlement.Develop and implement legal strategies in collaboration with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.Stay informed about developments in insurance law, including changes in regulations and relevant case law.Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.Extensive knowledge of insurance coverage issues under professional liability, general liability, and directors and officers insurance policies.Proven experience in drafting legal documents and performing detailed legal research.Demonstrated ability to manage complex litigation cases and represent clients effectively in court.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to practice law in California.Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent research and writing abilities, with a record of producing high-quality legal documents.Superior oral and written communication skills.Ability to manage and independently handle litigation cases.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
