You'll advise prospective students and families, guide them through admission requirements, and support them throughout the application process.Key Responsibilities:Recruitment Strategy : Develop and execute strategies to boost international student numbers from specified regions, including travel for recruitment.Admission Advising : Provide comprehensive admission advice to international students at all stages.Application Processing : Evaluate records, transcripts, and test scores to determine admission eligibility and ensure efficient communication with stakeholders.Collaborative Efforts : Work with SDSU Enrollment Services, the Office of Admissions, SDSU Global Campus, International Student Center, academic departments, and other campus offices.Graduate Applicant Support : Coordinate with Graduate Admissions evaluators to ensure document completeness and timely review.Document Management : Oversee the receipt and processing of official international student documents.Systems Utilization : Use my.SDSU (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions) and SLATE (CRM) to monitor application statuses and assist applicants.Training Development : Create and deliver training materials for student assistants in the International Recruitment office.Why Join Us?Impactful Role:

Gain valuable experience in international recruitment, admissions processes, and cross-cultural communication.Position InformationFull-time (1.0 time-base), benefits-eligible, permanent/probationary positionExempt under FLSA; not eligible for overtime compensationStandard work hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (subject to change based on operational needs)Education and ExperienceEquivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.Key QualificationsFluent in multiple languages preferred to effectively communicate with diverse international students.Willingness and ability to travel both internationally and domestically as required.Skilled in providing comprehensive admission advice to international students.Proven ability to implement effective strategies to increase international student prospects, applicants, and enrollees.Experienced in handling and managing official documents with accuracy and confidentiality.Proficient in using software programs (e.g., Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, PeopleSoft).Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Capable of creating and delivering effective training materials.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,841 per month.Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.Diversity and Community at SDSUAt SDSU, our diversity gives us power and benefits every single member of our community.
