About the Role:

As the Director of Retail Strategy - our largest sales channel - you will be critical in driving long-term company growth. You will work cross-functionally to build out and continuously evolve our long-term retail strategy, work directly with our Head of Retail to create key retail data metrics and analytical insights, and drive operational improvements to maximize performance. This role requires someone passionate about and experienced in the retail/CPG industry, who can manage highly cross-functional strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

This role will report to the Head of Retail.

This is a full-time, hybrid (3 days per week) role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $150,000 to $180,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:Provide strategic and operational leadership to the retail team and executive leadershipBuild out and own a consolidated retail P&L, actively managing performance to budget and long term growth of the business (i.e. qualified pipeline, funnel activity, sales performance/execution, forecasting, etc.)Work closely with Retail Sales team to drive bottoms up budgets and analysis to align to Retail P&L across the boardOversee all retail planning processes to coordinate the team's interaction with cross-functional planning processes, and drive improvements to ensure flawless execution of key launches, events, and seasonal campaignsLeveraging our data team, build and utilize dashboards, reports, and models to track KPIs, including sales, margins, promotions, pricing, assortment, new item performance, and moreEnhance our analysis of broad retail data sources (Nielsen, POS, inventory, orders) to spot competitor and market trends, surface risks and opportunities, and build insights into our retail strategyAnalyze and recommend performance tools and alternate data sources to ensure that Dr. Squatch continues to be at the forefront of men's natural personal care in the retail spacePro-actively lead initiatives to build infrastructure, systems, and teams to support rapid scale upAbout You:

Bachelor's Degree - ideally in Business, Marketing, quantitative, or technical field.

MBA or other advanced degree a plus

7+ years experience, with extensive exposure to category/brand development roles in CPG or retail, and a track record of advancementManagement consulting experience, with exposure to CPG or retail strategy, is a plusSelf-starter mentality with a high degree of follow-through; can own and take tasks to completionStrong critical thinking skills to turn data into clear, actionable narrativesLeadership presence with ability to communicate complex perspectives convincinglyOutstanding project management abilities both independently and with cross-functional teamsProficient in Excel; experience with Looker or other data visualization tools a plusInterest in health and wellness, personal care, and/or retail/CPG industries with eagerness to drive impactSomeone who gets things done without perfect resources, is innovative, and works with a sense of urgencySomeone who has high standards, takes ownership, and is invested in the outcomeSomeone who proactively helps others, stays positive, and has a good sense of humor
