The Epic Application Coordinator (HIM) is the primary point of contact for the Health Information Management Application, and is involved in all aspects of system design, build, and testing while also coordinating and facilitating solutions for all issues that arise during the project with regards to the HIM Department. Throughout the project, and post go-live, they will be working closely with the clinical workgroups, to develop and maintain appropriate workflows. The focus for this role will be on chart tracking, release of information, deficiency tracking, and coding. The Epic Application Coordinator (HIM) will gain in-depth knowledge of the software by attending application support training and completing application certification projects and tests. Acting as the primary support contact for the application's end-users Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them Guiding workflow design, building, and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software Identifying and implementing requested changes to the system Serving as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic implementation staff Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings Working with Epic representatives, your organization's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs regarding the project deliverables and timeline Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience: Three (3) years of related experience, including experience with the HIM department and HIM workflows. Additional experience with transcription, and scanning workflows is desired. Working Knowledge: The ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine ideas/concepts from multiple angles/viewpoints. The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner The ability and willingness to recognize assignments or tasks that need to be completed, to seek out additional assignments or tasks, and to help others Seeking, logically examining, and interpreting information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and developing a course of action to resolve the problem and to prevent its recurrence The ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures As part of our team, you are empowered to work collaboratively with our physicians and other caregivers, and play an integral role in setting the standard for excellence in patient care.
