Description

Based in Portland, Maine, and offering services statewide, Preble Street's low-barrier, client-centered programs provide casework, housing, shelter, food, and other essential services to people in our community experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty, while advocating for long-term solutions to these problems.Working as a member of a highly collaborative team, the Private Grants Coordinator provides essential and substantial support to the Private Grants Director and the entire grants process. With responsibilities that include research, planning, and writing, as well as coordinating grant-related projects, this position provides an opportunity to delve into every aspect of the grants process in a dynamic, social justice mission driven nonprofit organization.This is a full-time (40 hour/week) position. On-site work is preferred; however, there is flexibility to work a hybrid/partially remote schedule (up to 16 hours/week).Qualifications

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and three or more years of grant writing, program development, nonprofit management, or other relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Completion of a grant writing or nonprofit management certificate program is a preferred qualification.Further qualifications include an understanding of homelessness and poverty with a commitment to the agency's mission; strong writing, grammar, and editing skills; ability to conduct research on grants, funding sources, and grant-related content; demonstrated aptitude to successfully manage medium-to-high complexity projects from initiation to completion; technical capacity to communicate, document, report, and distribute data and information; proficiency with relevant computer applications and technology; and the ability to work independently, manage workload, and meet deadlines with a high level of autonomy.Compensation & BenefitsThe hourly rate of pay for this full-time (40 hours/week) position is $27.28 per hour.
