Job RequirementsMinimum EducationGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic TechnologyRequired LicensesAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT M)MA State licensure and Mammography Licensure/credential requiredCurrent BLSRequired SkillsPrevious experience performing: Mammography procedures including 3D studies is required or equivalent experience as determined by the Diagnostic Imaging Director. Previous leadership experience preferred as well as ability to work with other Mammography Technologists in training on new protocols, procedures and CPT coding and performing QA timely on the equipment. Experience with all inspection processes and proven success with STATE/FDA inspections. Experience with ACR accreditation process and renewals for both 2D and 3D mammography. Quality conscious; interpersonal skills; flexible in achieving multiple tasks; dependable; organized; independent judgment; high level of technical skills.Functional Demands

Physical Requirements:Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands). Frequently stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist).

Also, train new and existing staff to operate all ultrasound equipment.Regularly reviews protocols and procedures with Radiologists and makes recommendations to the manage/director for additions / changes / deletions.Maintains all aspects of department operations according to policy and procedures and brings non-compliant issues immediately to the attention of the Imaging Director.Remains current with respect to new technologies and practices.Coordinates and organizes annual competencies for staffProvides input in the annual evaluations of staff to the Manager/Director.Coordinates data collection for Performance Improvement activities.Assures that all Ultrasound images are of optimum diagnostic quality so that radiologist can make an accurate interpretation of the images.Follows pre-determined image criteria to assess images to determine that all images include all required measurements, volumes, heart rates and anatomical information.Assures all images include all required demographic information, charts, graphs, measurements and that the images are of diagnostic quality.Operates all diagnostic ultrasound processing and printing equipment to create a quality final image and ensures all required data is on the final printed data sheet.Operates ultrasound equipment and selects the correct computer and technical factors.Properly operates digital storage systems (PACS) to ensure diagnostic quality images are captured.Assesses patients to ensure optimum selected technical techniques are used.Utilizes equipment settings and a variety of positioning techniques.Operates the hospital computer system (Meditech) for film releases to ensure accuracy for film library staff.Coordinates daily work by weekly tech room assignments and room schedule and patient flow to ensure exams are completed timely basis.Statement of Other Duties:This document describes the major duties and responsibilities for this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.
