Job Summary
The Commercial Loan Closing Assistant will assist the Commercial Team by providing administrative and closing support to the Loan Closers and the Commercial Lending Team. The Commercial Loan Closing Assistant will be responsible for gathering and reviewing required documentation and following up on outstanding post-closing documentation to ensure required documentation is obtained and filed in accordance with the terms and conditions of the loan approval.
Primary and Essential Functions
Assist with ordering, gathering and reviewing of required documentation and other due diligence, including but not limited to the requirements of the closing checklist. Effectively communicate additional requirements and/or obtain clarification on loan closings from internal and external partners. Assist with drafting internal commercial loan closing documentation using Compliance One Lending System for small, non-complex loans. Ensure all executed and recorded commercial loan closing documents are received, filed and uploaded in the imaging system. Review and monitor quality control exceptions and assist with clearing outstanding documentation exceptions. Assist with UCC filings and releases and mortgage lien releases when loans are paid off. Assist with processing Modifications, Extensions, Renewals and Advances to ensure timely and accurate completion. Provide administrative support and perform regular commercial loan file maintenance. Responsible for assisting Loan Officers in resolving closing issues. Maintain professional and positive contact with co-workers, customers, and others to encourage positive and cooperative working relationships that enhance HOPE's image. Secondary Functions
Participate in staff meetings and weekly loan closing pipeline meetings. Ensure items are uploaded accurately in imaging system. Assist with fundings and/or disbursements. Assist with Audits as needed Assist AVP and VP of Loan Operations and other Loan Operations staff as needed. Regulatory Compliance Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to quickly learn new software programs. Ability to learn and create compliant commercial and commercial real estate loan documents for non-complex transactions with guidance. Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing requests from both internal and external partners. Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to organize and effectively prioritize and manage workload. Innovative and forward thinking to fine tune processes that will result in a higher level of customer service and to develop confidence. Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. One or more years of experience in a loan closing environment, Commercial Lending preferred. Demonstrated strength in ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining appropriate attention to details. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
