Overview

Performs Neurodiagnostic procedures, under the supervision of the senior staff and physicians. As advanced competencies are completed, the technician may perform more advanced procedures (Neonatal EEG, EP, ICU-LTM). This position trains to become a Technologist in all aspects of Neurodiagnostic procedures. Completion of ABRET registry in one or more of the modalities will be a requirement of the position based on time and experience upon hire. Technicians hired into this position must complete the registry process in one of these modalities with 24 months of hire. If the candidate has completed a CAHEEP approved program then they will have 12 months to complete the registry process in one of the modalities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:High School graduate. 2 to 4 years' college preferred but not required. Graduation from a CAAHEP approved END training program highly desirable. If candidate does not have college then OJT position at a large teaching hospital with demonstrated competencies may be considered. Clinical health care experience of at least one year required. Graduation from a CAAHEP approved END training will be considered equivalent to one year's work experience. Ideal candidate must be a highly self-motivated and able to work alone with minimal direction.

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position.
